School lunches are free for all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. This is called 'universal free school meals'. Some of these children may also be eligible under a different scheme called simply 'free school meals'. It is very important that we still identify these pupils as early as possible. This is because each child registered under the original scheme attracts valuable funding for their school in addition to their child receiving free meals at school (and currently, food vouchers in the holidays).
We encourage any carer/parent who may be eligible to apply. This is done through Devon County Council’s Parent Portal. Every claim is dealt with the utmost confidentiality. This is the quickest and easiest way to apply and will result in you getting an instant decision.
