Our School Curriculum

Our School Curriculum

Our Curriculum is planned to cover the National Curriculum within a topic based approach. We continually work to update and improve this curriculum to ensure that it captures children's enthusiasm and generates excitement about learning while developing a sound and rigorous grounding in basic skills , knowledge and understanding for all children .

Skills, Knowledge and Understanding.

To ensure that we teach a broad and balanced curriculum,  we follow the National Curriculum 2014 programmes of study for:

  • English, Maths, Science, Computing,  Physical Education, History,  Geography,  Music, Art and Design,  Design Technology and Modern Foreign Languages.
  • We also teach the locally agreed syllabus for RE and have  a programme of study for PSHE

For more information on the Curriculum 2014 follow the link to the Department of Education website below.

Our Topic based approach

Much of our teaching and learning takes place within a topic based curriculum.  The planning for different topics across the year for each class is shown in the attached document "Two year rolling topic programme".

More detailed information about how we plan within each subject area  is shown in
the termly curriculum newsletter on each class page.

If you would like more information about our curriculum please make an appointment to see the Classteacher, Key Stage Leader or Headteacher .

We are currently on Year A of the our rolling Topic Programme.
