Computing

Computing at Ashburton Primary School

The intent of our Computing curriculum at Ashburton is to deliver a curriculum which is accessible to all and that will maximise the outcomes for every child so that:

All children are INSPIRED to develop their talents and love learning about all aspects of the Computing Curriculum;

Children BELIEVE in themselves and their abilities to act effectively in the digital world;

Children DISCOVER and enjoy a wide range of experiences within the sphere of Computing;

Children ACHIEVE their full potential in Computing and the Digital World;

Children BELONG to an inclusive community, which cares about the achievement of all.

At Ashburton Primary School, Computing education enables our children to become independent and responsible members of their society.  Our aim is to ensure that pupils become digitally literate so that they can engage effectively in the digital world for education, creativity and in the future workplace.  We provide our children with opportunities for them to learn about digital systems and how to apply this knowledge in programming. Our curriculum will also ensure that children have a secure and age-appropriate understanding of their rights and responsibilities in the digital world.
