At Ashburton Primary School, our Mathematics curriculum enables all our children to develop mastery of the National Curriculum objectives. It aims to help them understand how the number system works, embed the knowledge of core number facts, develop procedural fluency, and develop their reasoning and problem solving skills. We provide our children with opportunities to apply their Mathematical knowledge to solve problems in a stimulating variety of contexts. All our children are supported to develop their recall of number facts such as number bonds and multiplication.

The intent of our Maths curriculum is to deliver a curriculum which is accessible to all and that will maximise the outcomes for every child so that: All children are INSPIRED to develop their talents and love learning about all aspects of the Maths Curriculum. Children BELIEVE in themselves and their abilities. Children DISCOVER and enjoy a wide range of experiences. Children ACHIEVE their full potential in Mathematics.
