Writing at Ashburton Primary School
The intent of our WRITING curriculum is to deliver a curriculum which is accessible to all and that will maximise the outcomes for every child so that: All children are INSPIRED to develop their talents and love of writing for communication, pleasure and for demonstrating and embedding learning across the curriculum and beyond. Children BELIEVE in themselves and their abilities; At Ashburton primary School we believe 100% of children can, should and will learn to write. We want the children and their parents/ carers to believe this too. Children DISCOVER and enjoy learning about and using a wide range of writing techniques and skills. Children ACHIEVE their full potential in WRITING. Our aim is for 100% of our pupils to learn to express their thoughts and ideas in writing. Children BELONG to a caring community, which supports them to be authors in a wide range of contexts. 100% of Ashburton Primary School children learn to write with confidence, enjoyment and fluency at the expected level for their age. They will have the skills and understanding to express their ideas, thinking and imagination by writing fiction, non-fiction and poetry pieces. |
