Happy Tuesday Year 3!

I hope you are all well and ready for another great week of home learning! Thank you to those of you who sent in your home learning this week. I am really enjoying seeing what lessons you have chosen to do!

This week I have included a Maths Reasoning paper rather than the normal arithmetic paper - so let me know how you get on with it.

Monday 18th May 2020

Hello Everyone! Happy Monday and welcome to Week 6 of our Home learning journey. Our topic for this week is Sea Voyages again as there has been so much to learn about. I was super impressed to see so many of you enjoying learning about the Maiden voyage of the Mayflower. This week in geography and DT you will be looking at this topic in more detail.

In English this week it is our final week of The Truth about Trolls and I have really enjoyed seeing your planning stages of this topic. I am excited find out what information you will invent! As for Maths, there are more MyMaths activities that I have uploaded so make sure you check that you are all up to date before starting the next set. I am still checking MyMaths, Accelerated Reader and TT Rockstars everyday, so try your hardest to have a go at these this week.

I know some of you are really missing school and your friends but just know we are all missing you too and can’t wait for us to be reunited. Thank you for all for watching my YouTube video last week, another one will be uploaded today so please have a look on your parentmail emails to see the link.

Keep sending in your pictures and videos for me to see, I love seeing them and they always brighten up my day. Miss you all and have a wonderful week!

Stay safe, stay smiley and stay excellent!

Monday 11th May 2020

Hello Year 3!

I hope you have had another top notch week at home. This week I am happy to tell you that our new home learning topic is SEA VOYAGES!

This topic is one that I am sure all of you will enjoy immensely.

All the teachers at Ashburton have worked really hard this week to make sure you have lots to be getting on with so make sure you email us your pictures and examples of your work. I am already excited to see what you have been up to.

Remember I am still looking at Accelerated Reader, MyMaths and TT Rockstars to make sure you are keeping on track. If you have any questions or need some help, make sure to email me on

In other news, our fancy new YouTube Channel will be going live this week! I have recorded a message for you so do go and have a look and see what I have been up to. Check out the Parent Mail email this morning for the link to my video.

I hope you are all well and that you are keeping busy. I must say I have enjoyed the sunshine over the past few days. I will be uploading the pictures and photos you have been sending in on Thursday this week on to the class page. I may even upload some of myself too so make sure you keep an eye out for those! Miss Caple's VE day Celebrations - 8.5.20

Year 3 Learning Gallery W/c 4.5.20 - Well done everyone! Keep sending in your excellent photos to

Monday 4th May 2020

Hello Year 3!

I hope you have all been keeping well and are still enjoying your home learning tasks.

I was so pleased to see some more people had sent in pictures of their learning to our new class email address. It does look as though you are all having a whale of a time! I have been keeping up with checking MyMaths, TT Rockstars and Accelerated Reader every day and it is excellent to see so many of you completing your tasks. I would love if over the next two weeks, we could get up to 100% of the activities being completed on MyMaths.

Our home learning topic for this week is “Space” again as the teachers felt there was so much to cover, we couldn’t fit it all in one week! Check out your Home Learning Sheet for Week 4 below. I am already looking forward to seeing which activities you choose to do so please send in your photos. “The Truth about Trolls” is particularly interesting.

As it is VE day on Friday, and also a bank holiday, you don’t need to do any home learning on that day. Hooray for you all!  If you would like however, it would be brilliant if you could send some pictures of you and your family celebrating it. I have mastered the art of baking an excellent Victoria Sponge cake in preparation for VE day and I will also be wearing something red, something white and something blue. I will make sure to upload a picture of what I am going to be doing.

I hope you have a wonderful week and I look forward to hearing from you.

Stay safe, stay smiley, and stay excellent!

Signing off, Miss Caple smiley

Hello Year 3!

I hope you are all well!

Thank you so much for all your messages and photos last week. It was brilliant when I opened my emails and saw some of your learning adventures and smiling faces. I really enjoyed hearing from you, so please do keep sending your messages in. They really brighten up my day.

The theme for your home learning in week 3 is 'Space'. I hope you will all enjoy this topic as much as I have enjoyed planning it.

Please keep going with the TT Rockstars and quizzes on Accelerated Reader - I can check everyday to see what you have been up to and it gives me great information about how well you are all doing.

I hope you have a great week completing your home learning, keeping active, smiling, laughing and most importantly staying safe.

Stay Excellent!

Miss Caple

Year 3 Home Learning - W/c 20/4/20

Home Learning for the Summer Term

Monday 20th April 2020

Hello My Tiny Year 3 Humans,

I hope you and your family are all well and have been enjoying the sunshine when it appears. You may not be in our classroom, but I know you will all be working as hard as you can during this higgledy piggledy time.

I have been missing you all greatly and so I thought you might like to know what I have been up to. In addition to sorting your wonderful home learning, I have been reading, baking and practising my sewing skills. I have been going for a walk every day with Rogue by the sea and playing with Ninja. Some of you will be glad to hear I have also been having my very own Dojo Dance parties in my kitchen! I think I am getting much better at the GoNoodle “Believer” song now.

I know you all miss each other and whilst it may seem strange to still be at home, just remember we will see each other all again before we know it.

I hope you have another excellent week and I look forward to seeing what you have been up to through your emails.

Stay safe and stay smiley!

See you later Gremlins!

Miss Caple

Happy Easter Holidays Year Three!

I hope you are all well, happy and enjoying time with your families.  I certainly missed seeing your fabulous faces at school for the last week of term! I expect you will be missing each other too. Perhaps you could write letters to each other to keep up that lovely writing.

Because the next two weeks are the Easter holiday, we have set you an Easter challenge rather than more home learning. Miss Caple's Egg-cellent Bingo Challenge is attached below.

Please email messages and pictures of how you get on with the challenge to

I will email you a special certificate if you complete the challenge.

Keep yourselves safe and have fun!

Miss Caplelaugh

Easter Bingo

I hope that you are all managing to keep active and if possible get out into the sunshine. Here is a link for PE activities that you can try at home.

Keep smiling and keep moving!

Good morning Year 3!

Here are some things for your home learning this week. These are for you to use if you think they will be helpful. Having a timetable can really help you to organise your day - you can also design your own. Each day try to do plenty of different things and be as creative as you can. This might be a time to learn a new skill as well.

Stay fabulous, take care and enjoy the sunshine!

Miss Caple
