History at Ashburton Primary School

The intent of our History curriculum is to deliver a curriculum which is accessible to all and that will maximise the outcomes for every child so that:

At Ashburton Primary School, History education enables our children to develop their chronological understanding as well as building their knowledge of ancient civilizations from the past our significant periods of British history. They will be given the opportunity to ask questions and develop their own line of enquiry about these important subjects as well as learning about how these questions are answered by historians. There is a strong focus on understanding the influence of ancient civilisations and past eras on our life today.
